WAVE research ongoing at University of Western
The University of Western Ontario, School of Kinesiology, is currently performing safety studies using the WAVE to establish WAVE training (15 minute exercise sessions, 3 times a week) as safe relative to established vibration standards. Previous studies at the university have looked at blood flow and skin temperature changes with WAVE exercise. Future studies conducted by Dr. Peter Lemon and his research group will be studying the use of the WAVE in the elderly with regard to bone density, balance, and mobility

WAVE research ongoing at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute
The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute is currently undergoing research studies using the WAVE to determine the effects of vibration therapy on bone density in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patients. SCI patients lose a significant amount of bone density when no longer able to support their own body weight. Through research, the institute is determining whether positive bone density gains are found as a result of using the device.

Current research led by Dr. Kenji Kenno of the Faculty of Human Kinetics, Department of Kinesiology, is focusing on muscle activation via conventional exercise versus exercise performed on the WAVE.
